An assessment gauges what best suits the clients’ needs
An assessment is used to determine the factors that may be maintaining the client’s problematic behaviors. During the assessment, we will have to ask about the client’s developmental history, their prescribed medications, previous therapy services, and counseling, if any, and more. An initial assessment and diagnosis are significant because it will provide another layer to the professional’s understanding of the client’s capabilities. Once these assessments are completed, we can start making the treatment objectives and considerations for behavior management.
